WELCOMING MORE IMMIGRANTS FOR 2016
Honorable
Justin Trudeau and his elected government decided to Bring in 280,000-350,000
new Canada permanent Residents in the year of 2016.
As
per the details, Trudeau government’s focus will be on family reunification
while bringing in new Canada permanent residents. This was revealed by Canada
Refugees and Citizenship Minister John McCallum.
Record
Number of Canada permanent residents to be welcomed in 2016Canada to welcome
nearly 350,000 new permanent residents in 2016—Well, 2016 is going to be a
great year for all those wanting to come and live in Canada. Yes, that’s
because Canadian government is all set to welcome nearly 350,000 new Canada
permanent residents this year.
Last
9 years, under the conservatives governing time, immigration program suffered a
lot because of its slow and inefficient system. Canada needs a large number of qualified
people every single years based on their requirement. But, the inefficient
program procedure was the hurdles to achieve that target.
After
taking the charge of Trudeau government, it is expected to get more productive
and effective programs for the qualified candidates. Government already starts
working on it.
Special
emphasis on family reunification—Special emphasis of Canada government will be
on family reunification while welcoming increased number of Canada permanent
residents this year. This was revealed by immigration minister McCallum.
Plans
are to welcome between 280,000 and 350,000 new Canada permanent residents this
year. He said that Canada will be reuniting families, offer a place to
refugees, especially those fleeing persecution, and support long term economic
prosperity of Canada.
Reducing
wait times, clearing backlogs–Government has also clearly outlined how it will
be increasing Canada family class immigration levels. This will be done while
addressing Canada application backlog and reunification of families more
quickly.
He
further clarified that the government of Canada will be fulfilling its
commitments to allow more refugees to Canada and help to diversify the economy
of the nation while creating sustainable growth.
Canada’s
annual target of allowing nearly 305,000 new Canada permanent residents means
increase in Canada immigration levels by nearly 7.4 percent.
Increased
admission of sponsored spouses, partners and dependents—Canada’s immigration
plan for the year 2016 is to welcome increased number of sponsored spouses,
partners and dependents. This will be done to reduce processing times and to
bring down inventories. Canada 2016 immigration levels plan also aims to
maintain high immigration levels in Canada PGP (Parent and Grandparent
Program).
IRCC
is doubling the total of sponsorship applications to be accepted for Canada
parent and grandparents. It will accept a total of 10,000 applications
annually. Under Canada PGP, a total of 20,000 admissions are planned. So, by
year end, backlog inventory shall be get reduced by nearly 15 percent.
Support
to Canada economic growth—This will be done by allowing significant admissions
in Canada economic immigration programs. That’s because Canada’s economic class
will be having a major share of all immigration admissions this year.
COMMENTS
It
is really interesting news from Canadian government about welcoming large
number of immigrant in 2016. I can assure hat, it will be more in 2017-18 if
the immigration program runs like today’s system they are following. After
applying the EOI system, how many applications were completed by CIC as per the
yearly requirement 2, 65,000 last year? Hopefully, very few of can get clear
picture on that.
I
can give you the simple picture on this:-
Total
EOI draws in 2015 were 23
Total
ITA issued January to December 2015: 31,063
[Including all programs]
Total
PR requirement was 2, 65,000 in
2015.
In
2016, January to March 23rd – total ITA issued 8,451 against 7 draws. Hope the above mentioned picture showed you
the real scenario of EOI program.
Canada
will not get more qualified candidates until they remove the CRS point system.
Most of the candidates are qualifying with high IELTS scores, but couldn’t get
ITA – because of the CRS point system. We understand, CRS system was applied to
slow down the application flow. But the requirement of PR each year will be
doubled and the government target achievement will be failed as a result.
Beside
all the complex and hurdles, I still congratulate Mr. Trudeau and his
government to make easier Quebec Skilled Worker program and the program Nova
Scotia Skilled Worker Demand. As of today this two programs are little bit easier
for the qualified SW candidates who doesn’t get job offer from Canada. I
believe, current programs and more upcoming programs will be more productive
and helpful for applicant and the government of Canada.
